
Yegor Yegorov was born in Odessa, Ukraine. His musical talents were apparent early, beginning piano studies at the age of six, under the direction of Elena Levinska. Later, he was accepted by the Odessa Stolyarsky Special Music School (for gifted children) to study with Vladimir Petrov.
He continued his musical education at the Odessa State Nezhdanova Academy of Music under the tutelage of Alexander Bugaevski and Galyna Popova. After having graduated with honors from the Academy, Yegor pursued further studies at Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy in Dusseldorf, Germany, and received individualized instruction from internationally renowned, Chopin Piano Competition prize winner Dina Yoffe.
As a concert pianist, Yegor has performed with symphonic orchestras, such as Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra, and chamber ensembles in Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Greece, Poland, France, and USA.
The conductors with whom he has collaborated include Hobart Earle, Dmitry Logvin, Valentin Reymond, Charles Ansbacher, and Young Chil Lee. Yegor recently played Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 with Chernihiv Academic Philharmonic Orchestra in Chernihiv, Ukraine, under the baton of Maestro Mykola Sukach.
Yegor’s repertoire consists of more than 20 concertos for piano and orchestra; among them are all five by Beethoven, both of Chopin’s, and works by Brahms and Rachmaninoff.
Yegor’s other recordings include a CD containing solo performances of Schumann’s Kreisleriana, and a scherzo, ballade, and preludes by Chopin, and another CD of piano-violin duo pieces of various classical musical styles.
